CRASHES, SURPRISES AND BESTOWALS AT RICARDO TORMO
Great improvements on this day full of surprises and crashes on the Spanish circuit
of Valencia. The hard work done by the Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team brings satisfactions.
Regis Laconi places in 8th position in race 1 followed by his team partner Makoto
Tamada who pushed too much in race 2 trying to over passing his adversaries and
he crashed. Regis Laconi gained instead the 9th position. Two battled competitions
in front of the over 50.000 persons came to watch the round on an adverse track
where 10 riders crashed in race 1.
Makoto Tamada
“I'm disappointed for what happened in race 2. I hadn't make a good start so it
has been difficult to over pass my adversaries in order to reach the first group.
I was waiting for the good occasion but I waited too long and I started to become
nervous so I started to push as soon as I saw the possibility but I crashed into
the rider in front of me falling down. It's a pity as the adjustements we made
on suspensions increased a lot the grip and the bike was behaved well. Race 1
gave me satisfaction, not only for the result but because I maintained a good
rhythm during all the race and at the end I still could increase it even if I
missed the grip. Now we'll go to Jerez for the test that precede next round at
Assen track in Holland and we'll work to be prepared”. |
